DRONES- What are drones, exactly?


 Drones or unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), is a pilot-less plane which can be guided by remote control, or can navigate automatically based on programmed software. Drones are overwhelmingly used for military purposes mainly for reconnaissance and for combat. They play an important role in all scenarios of combat. It serves as a means of going to war without setting foot on enemies territories




Israel was the first country to develop drones after the Arab-Israeli war in 1973.Currently, the United States of America is the largest producer and frequent user of drones.
The list of countries that possess weaponized drones are U.S, U.K, China, Israel, Pakistan, Iran, Iraq, Nigeria, Somalia, and South Africa.


There is the Predator drone which has tail pointing downward and the more advanced and more lethal is the Reaper .The Predator drone can stay in the air for 24 hours. The Predator cost $4.5 million -$11million per unit whiles the Reaper cost $30 million per unit .
